Windermere again on the left, these images were taken near the ferry crossing point opposite Bowness-on-Windermere, near Far Sawrey. Centre photo is Wray Castle, owned by the National Trust it is not a real castle and was built in 1840, the grounds are open to the public but the castle itself is leased as a college. On the right a photo of one of the paths leading to Aira Force waterfall. | ||
Aira Force is also National Trust property located just to the west of Ullswater. It is a spectacular site with the waterfall falling 70 feet in height. On the right the western shore of Ullswater. | ||
Ullswater again on the left. In the centre is the Kirkstone Pass Inn, we approach via the road known as The Struggle from Ambleside. The photo on the right is a view across the northern part of Lake Windermere. |
