The Great Langdale Valley is a popular place for camping, rock climbing and walking, offering low level flat walks and more challenging ascents of the Langdale Pikes that rise from the Valley.
There are two Langdale Valleys, Great Langdale as featured, and the quieter, less accessible Little Langdale which is separated from Great Langdale by the Lingmoor Fells. Centre photo above shows the Stickle Barn Pub and the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel with the dramatic Dungeon Ghyll waterfall behind. There is a challenging walk towards the waterfall and continuing on to Stickle Tarn and Pavey Ark with great views across the valley.
Left photo shows the Great Langdale Beck that cuts through the valley before running into Elterwater. You can see page two from our visit to the Lake District by clicking here. |
