GOYT VALLEY - 11/04/04
Photos on this page are from a visit to the Goyt Valley on 09/04/04, (Good Friday). We made the most of the good weather and sunshine in the morning, with rain arriving later in the day.
Today's walk starts at the Errwood car park then sees us heading south along the road through the Goyt Valley. Water levels in Errwood Reservoir (centre photo) seem to have recovered after the winter rain.
After a short distance uphill we head off the road, walking upstream along the River Goyt, where one of the locals poses for a photo.
On reaching the waterfalls above, where Stake Clough runs into the Goyt we return to the car park at Errwood, via a path that leads towards the ruins of Errwood Hall. To see more photos from the Goyt Valley, including location information visit the Derbyshire archive page by clicking here. |
