MACCLESFIELD FOREST - PAGE 2 - (04/03/06)This is the second page featuring photographs from our walk at Macclesfield Forest, to see page one click here.
The scenery across the forest was more and more impressive as we got closer to the quiet hamlet of Forest Chapel.
More views of Forest Chapel are shown above with the church, St Stephen's shown in background of the centre photo.
Inquisitive and hungry some of the locals pose for a photo, (left photo) as we walk from Forest Chapel towards Standing Stone. There were a lot of people making the most of the winter wonderland conditions and sledging on the slopes that drop down towards Wildboarclough.
From Standing Stone we follow a bridleway initially heading towards Shutlingsloe, it is a beautiful route with temperatures noticeably dropping as we enter the cover of the trees out of the sunshine. The path takes us past the derelict Ferriser Farm, (centre photo) before we drop back down towards the Visitors Centre near Trentabank Reservoir. To visit page one from this walk click here.
