Originally purchased by the famous poet William Wordsworth to build a house, Dora's Field was instead planted with hundreds of daffodils
by Wordsworth and his family as a memorial to their daughter Dora after her death. St Mary's Church, located next to the field was built on the site of an orchard in 1824, by Lady le Fleming, of Rydal Hall.

A visit to the field is ideal combined with a trip to Wordsworth's home, Rydal Mount, with its Gardens and Tea Room. Dora's Field and Rydal Mount are located
in Rydal Village which can be found between Grasmere and Ambleside in the Lake District.

No visit to the Lake District is complete without a look at the Langdale Valley and the picturesque Blea Tarn. As the clouds skate across the sky the views change by the minute,
from bright and breezy to moody and atmospheric.
