Cornwall in the South West of England is one of the premier holiday destinations in Britain thanks to its warm climate and stunning coastline. Along with sandy beaches that stretch for miles, ancient villages and castles the county has spectacular moorland and a rich industrial past as that shown on Bodmin Moor where you can find the remains of old engine houses once used to mine tin and copper. Tourism plays a big part in Cornwall today with many of the historical places and buildings attracting visitors from across the UK and abroad, there is no better example of the past being used to regenerate the area than at the Eden Project where giant biomes have been constructed in a old china clay pit to explore the relationship between plants, people and places. The pages below are just a taste of the visitor attractions in Cornwall and include gentle strolls along a beach or through a ancient village along with walks to the highest points in the county. |
